HALCYON FOCUS AND FLARE

After 3 years of development, Halcyon is setting the standard for primary dive lights again.

LED is difficult to focus. Instead of pushing a lot of power to the LED, which is inefficient and generates a lot of heat, Halcyon invested time and resources in developing a lux engine, generating a high intensity, focused beam, while consuming half of the power of 21 watt HID lights.
With more of the light focused into a tighter location, Halcyon LED primary lights easily outperform 21 watt HID lights.
Both lights have a fully adjustable handle, which can be set to left or right hand operation. The adjustable power switch can be set to off, medium, or high power.

Halcyon applied this new lux engine in three new products:

The Halcyon Flare uses a fixed beam in a compact housing for those customers seeking high quality performance on a budget.

The Halcyon Focus offers an adjustable beam to switch between intense focus or a wide beam for underwater video purposes.

The Halcyon Flare Handheld is a fixed-beam cordless light:

The Halcyon Focus Handheld is an adjustable-beam cordless light:

The dive is the thing. We make the gear that we know will make diving better. It is knowing as opposed to guessing.

Halcyon Product Development

Much of Halcyon's reputation was earned through the hard work of underwater cave exploration in Florida, Europe, and Mexico. In the company's early days, Halcyon product development meetings were likely to be held in a Tallahassee sushi bar, after a hard weekend of cave exploration. Everyone would debate about how the current wing made a dive more or less comfortable, or how changing a material would be an improvement. While some of us were putting the gear through its paces in the caves, others were doing the same on wrecks and reefs, from the Baltic, to the Caribbean. As soon as the feedback filtered in, a new batch of wings, with the suggested changes in place, would roll out of the factory, made better by the previous two weekends of diving.
